Blue's Clues Birthday Party

My oldest son wanted a Blue's Clues birthday this year. We started out the day playing Blue's Clues. I used this link to download paw prints. I taped them to three different objects. Then he found them and drew them in his notebook to figure out Blue's Clues. It was a hit!

Making this Blue's Clues cake was easier than I thought it would be. First I made a standard 9x13 sheet cake and put it in the freezer. Then I found a picture of Blue on the internet and pasted it into a word document. I made the picture as large as I could, printed it out, and cut out the picture. Once the cake was frozen, I placed the picture on top of the cake and used it as a guide to cut out Blue's shape.

Next, time for frosting! I reserved a little for Blue's red tongue. I used food coloring to make light blue frosting to cover Blue. Then I dyed the remaining frosting darker blue for Blue's spots and nose. Then I took the reserved frosting and made Blue's red tongue. For the eyes, I cut a large marshmallow in half and placed Junior Mints on top of them. Last, I used a toothpick to draw the mouth. Ta Dah! You have a Blue's Clues cake.
